Psychologist Resident
My Approach
Even with challenges, stress, or trauma in our lives, we can make choices to move towards a meaningful and fulfilling life. I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, understanding that you are the expert of your life. We will work together to understand your individual values and goals and what is most effective for you. As a therapist, and in my life, I strongly value authenticity, humility, inclusivity, and growth. I will work to meet you where you are in your journey, compassionately challenge unhelpful patterns and celebrate your wins no matter how big or small.
I am a generalist psychologist with specialties in sport and performance psychology and eating disorders. I primarily use an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) lens. I also integrate Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Process Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to give you the tools to move towards your goals.
My Experience
As a former athlete and college lacrosse coach myself, I have a strong interest in working with athletes and coaches navigating the intersection of mental health and performance. Through navigating my own challenges with injury, the transition out of sport, and the stresses of coaching, I developed a strong desire to offer the support that I needed myself in those times. These experiences led me to become a psychologist and Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) as awarded by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).
I have extensive experience in college counseling centers and NCAA D1 and D3 athletic departments. I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, PTSD and trauma, self-esteem, body image and disordered eating, and life transitions. I work with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, navigating whatever life brings them. I aim to assist my clients in living their most meaningful, fullest lives.
