Sport and Performance Psychology

Our specialized therapists combine evidence-based mental health approaches with performance-focused strategies.

Our therapists who are specialized in Sport and Performance Psychology work with athletes, performing artists, and high-achieving individuals. They have very specific sport psychology training, providing both mental health and sports psychology together. When you perform at this level, it is necessary to develop the mental skills needed to maximize success. Dr. Kimmel and Dr. Vas help athletes reach their goals while prioritizing mental health and well-being.

Whether you’re navigating performance pressure, physical injuries, life transitions, or personal challenges, our therapists help you build resilience, focus, confidence, and self-awareness.

How This Affects You

The demands on your body from physical performance can bring stress, anxiety, and self-doubt. Injuries, career transitions, changes in motivation, or balancing competing priorities can intensify these pressures. Many individuals experience performance anxiety, burnout, low confidence, or difficulty managing emotions under pressure. These challenges can affect both personal and professional life, making it harder to perform consistently or even enjoy doing it.

How Therapy Helps

Sports and Performance Psychology combines evidence-based mental health approaches with performance-focused strategies. Our therapists help you:

  • Identify and manage stress, anxiety, or unhelpful self-talk
  • Improve focus, motivation, and mental preparation for performance
  • Navigate transitions, setbacks, or career changes
  • Develop resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation
  • Align actions with personal values for a meaningful, balanced life
  • Implement goal-setting programs

Through collaborative sessions, you’ll learn tools to manage mental and emotional challenges while building skills that enhance performance and overall well-being.
