My Approach
I take a client-centered and gentle approach to build a space of safety, warmth, and collaboration. I incorporate aspects of cultural humility to gain an accurate understanding of you. I build comfort with compassion and a touch of humor. I believe that elements of being heard, self-exploration, and healing are important to one’s growth. To enable this, I focus on your goals holistically towards your thoughts, emotions, and actions. Further, I provide support towards your aims to change and improve your life.
My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and integrates from multiple other lenses: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential-Humanistic, Solution-focused, Liberation Psychology, Psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing, Systems, and Multicultural models/theories. This provides me with an abundant toolbox to customize my work towards each of my clients - and your feedback is essential for this. I strive to nurture your sense of empowerment, authenticity, and clarity on what is important in your life.
My Experience
Growing up in the Portland area, mental health needs were always apparent. My background in Sport and Performance Psychology is what solidified seeing myself in a role of addressing it. I view mental health work as a part of ongoing social justice. From this, I intentionally pursued opportunities to work with marginalized populations - including focuses on Ability Status, Race, and LGBTQ+ identities. Additionally, I’ve worked in a variety of settings: within the school system, community mental health, a university counseling center, and an NCAA DI Athletic Department. I have gained an abundance of experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, and social concerns. I enjoy working with individuals - adolescent ages and up - as well as groups. I always welcome athletes, performing artists, and students to tap into my Performance Psychology hat, however, I find that I utilize it with any of my clients. I am passionate about the work I do, and I care deeply about the people I get the opportunity to work with. I aim to make our space genuine, fulfilling, and productive. My Education & Professional Credentials
