My Approach

I take a gentle approach to build a space of safety and warmth. I build comfort with compassion and a bit of humor. I believe that life can be challenging, and we can still move towards growth and living in a more meaningful way. To nurture this, I will focus on your goals and values  holistically across how they are playing out in your life. During our work together, we will collaborate to customize it and enhance your progress. My aim is to make the experience of therapy productive, meaningful, and worthwhile for you.

I am trained in generalist psychology approaches, and have specializations in Sport and Performance Psychology, as well as in Identity-focused work. My approach is grounded in an
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) lens. I also integrate from multiple other lenses: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic, Multicultural
models/theories, and more. I strive to nurture your sense of empowerment, authenticity, and clarity on what is important in your life.

My Experience

Being from the Portland area, mental health needs have always been clear in our community. I view mental health work as a part of ongoing social justice. From this, I have gained an abundance of experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and many different types of social concerns. Further, I have emphasized working with marginalized populations - Race/Ethnicity, LGBTQ+ identities, Ability Status, and more. I have found a good fit within this specialization, as well as it being very rewarding. I have worked with a diverse range of clients, and enjoy working with adolescents and adults of all ages. I offer therapy services for individuals, couples, and groups.

I have worked in a variety of settings: within the public school system, community mental health, a university counseling center, and an NCAA DI Athletic Department. I always welcome athletes, performing artists, students, and high-achievers to tap into my Performance Psychology expertise. However, I find that I utilize this skillset with all of my clientele, spanning many professional and personal roles. I have found that many skills - such as confidence, motivation, focus - are transferable and productive to enhance across one’s life. I care deeply about the people I get the opportunity to work with, and I am committed to helping you cultivate fulfillment in your life.
